Advice focused on biological control

We advise on growing systems that focus on the biological control of pests and harmful fungal diseases. We also include alternative products that strengthen the plants and, unlike many pesticides, have no negative effect on naturally occurring beneficial organisms or on the beneficials that are actively released.

We believe that residues of pesticides and other chemicals should be avoided, so organic and other alternative production should be promoted, for the benefit of people and the environment.

Our values

Working with sustainability and organic principles is a matter of course for us. Producing beneficial insects for pest control makes sense, because we do not know the long-term effects of chemical control.

Our production facilities have a heat recovery system that recovers up to 85% of the energy, and the building is insulated to keep energy use to a minimum.

Our history

Our owner, Erik W. Hansen, is a biologist who specialised in the control of spider mites in apple trees and has experience with both chemical and biological pest control. His goal was to produce beneficial insects in Denmark, so that Danish growers could receive them at short notice together with expert advice.

  1. 1992The company starts under the name BioConsulting.
  2. 1996The name changes to BioProduction. Production takes place in a small basement room.
  3. 1998The company moves to larger premises.
  4. 2000A new building in Tappernøje, designed for production and administration, is completed.
  5. 2006The company becomes an ApS and takes the name EWH BioProduction ApS. Exports go to all of Europe, and later also to Turkey, Vietnam and Kenya.
  6. 2023On 1 April, Agrobio SL takes over all activities, with the aim of becoming Scandinavia's largest producer and distributor of bumblebees and beneficial insects. The range now includes Agrobio's products.
